![]() You line up Atlanta, Munchen, Helena, Schors, Fiji, even Cleveland from Tier VIII in front of Sinop, any of those CLs are going to get smashed.Ī big problem I learned with Atlanta's island camping is that even with AFT, her range only goes out to 13.34km. Is that really drastically different than what's out there in Munchen's MM bracket? Not really, IMO. Both ATL & Munchen still have to be scared of Battleships, so it's nothing new.īut Cruisers by nature are squishy ships anyways, so a Tier VII CL that's squishy. Munchen's armor is better and CAs can't rely on Overmatch to brutalize her. I played a CA and if I saw an Atlanta, it was time for Deletion of the ATL. Atlanta gets abused badly by 203mm AP due to Overmatch. The funny part is she's better protected than Atlanta, and Atlanta is very popular. I will say that again "five second reload." She is a DD killer and hilariously fun to play. I should add that she has six inch guns with a five second reload. Seems like nobody has picked her up and I rarely see her in randoms. Munchen is the biggest secret in the game. That reputation is gone ever since the CV Rebork. Has 150mm guns versus Atlanta's piddly 127mm gunsĪtlanta used to be known as an AA behemoth, but that was long ago in the RTS CV Days. Only thing Munchen lacks is Radar that Atlanta has.īetter range Doesn't require AFT nor BFT to make the guns useful.Ībsolutely far superior HE Pen than Atlanta-class can ever dream of, 38mm default HE Pen compared to Atlanta's trash 21mm HE Penįires just as fast as Atlanta. Premium Tier VII German CL Munchen is better in every way than Atlanta, and interestingly shares a lot of general characteristics. Your job is to get up front next to your DDs and support them in gunfights - if you keep your DDs alive you generally go on to win. They have smoke but from T8 you can opt for radar (though personally I find its much better to use smoke in randoms as its easier to carry a team with it). High risk curisers - getting up into the face of the enemy and dying if you get spotted - is classic UK Light Cruiser (ending in Minotaur) play. Is there another line that embodies this high risk/high reward play style? If you can get behind cover, you can really help the team or you can blow up quickly if you get caught out in the open. Found myself taking the ATL out for a spin and I still love this ship! There ‘s nothing like the constant stream of shells and the fragile nature of its hull that feels so dangerous yet fun to play at the same time. I have no idea what line to finish grinding, so I’m just kinda playing around with whatever ship looks interesting. Used wisely, the Mogami can be a much bigger impact than her tier 8 cruiser colleagues.Just came back to the game after over a year away. The selling point of Mogami is that terrifying dpm-a very situational weapon that might as well be a game changer. Forget about torpedo charging anyone, your torpedo is mostly a resort of "try your luck" when you are kiting. Not having damage repair party certainly doesn't help. In the game, Mogami's acceleration and rudder feel slightly more sluggish than Atago, and, it may not be obvious at first sight, the Mogami is actually very frail-her hull has a higher silhouette, and the forwards and rear of the middle citadel rise aren't well protected. If you are using the 203mm you are doing it wrong, so you 155mm is what you will end up using. Nevertheless, Atago still has quite a high skill ceiling, and therefore room for excellence and improvisation. Better concealment, repair party that allows you to fix quite some damage, even citadel damage, good torpedo arcs and good maneuverability-you know it's not going to be that hard to master. This maybe my one and only 8.Ītago is a much more forgiving ship, and rightfully so (it's a tier 8 PREMIUM-you know what that means). World of difference I'm sure.Īll advice welcome, actually I may end up just staying at 7 because you seem to get both sides of the house without the exaggerated costs of high tier gamming, well not as much anyway. I've played against 9's with my 7's but not seen any 10's. ![]() I tend to be a little more aggressive then I should be at times, maybe not such a good thing at this level with these ships, but it is what it is, I like the 155's scenario on the Mogami but I'm also just getting really tired of the "HE" spam all the time from everyone.īoth seem like very good ships, although I'm sure my initial foray into High tier playing will not be stupendous to begin with. In the Current state of the game, which is in your opinions the better ship? or is it a Toss up? I do like the Repair party access of the Atago. However saying that I'm also not unwilling to fork over the $ for the Atago and save the in game currency for other projects. I know another one of those questions :) I've been reading about both ships and I'm to the point where I'm financially(in game) about ready to buy the Mogami.
